If you have ceiling or wall damage that appears in a nice straight line and is about 3 inches wide, it is most likely the tape seam that joins two pieces of drywall together. Over time the seams may come loose due to improper installation, exposure to moisture or underlying structure movement.
To remedy this problem, we cut out the old damaged seam and replace it with a new tape joint. We finish the area smooth and then apply a matching texture to the area. This process can usually be completed in a day.
We get a lot of requests for joint seam repair in garage ceilings. Interior spaces that are not air conditioned tend to have the most issues with seams splitting or coming loose from the drywall. These can be repaired in the same way as mentioned above. There is a slight possibility that some of the repaired joint seams can have issues over time, since the space is not heated or cooled like the interior of the home.
Please give us a call if you are needing a joint seam repair on any drywall surface in your home or business. We will assess the damage and provide you with a free quote for the repair. 515-229-6350
